THINGS TO MENTION WHEN CALLING PARENTS FOR THE FIRST TIME

1. Introduce yourself, give team number. Give them your telephone number. Tell them when practice will start and where. If you have an assistant, give them his/her number as well.

2. Tell them about the TEAM MEETINGS. This is the opportunity for you to get the volunteers for your team and important information to be passed onto your parents. You will meet for the first time, pick a name and meet your team. It helps if you have practice times, phone numbers and your goals and objectives as a coach written down to hand out to the parents.

  • Plan to be available for players and parents at every practice and every game

  • Communicate regularly with your players and parents

  • Have a parent volunteer to be the Team Parent and communicate frequently

3. OPENING DAY is usually the last Saturday in August at Gerety Stadium at Center High School on Watt Avenue. Pictures will follow in the afternoon at Tetotom Park. Picture schedule will be given out at the Team Parent Meeting

4. Many people are on vacation in July and August. If you are unable to contact someone on your team, please be patient. If you cannot contact someone after two weeks, please call your head coach or the Voice Mail for assistance.

5. If a medical release is not signed on player form, please have the parent sign it at your first meeting. Unless signed, the medical release is not valid. If you make copies for assistant coach or team parent to have (a good idea) please have the parents sign over the copied signature at the bottom.

THE CHILDREN OF ANTELOPE AYSO THANK YOU FOR VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME TO MAKE THEIR SOCCER EXPERIENCE A REALITY.

If you have any questions, please call the numbers on your phone list, starting with your divisional head coach, then chief coach, then regional commissioner if any of the first two cannot answer your question. Do not let little problems develop into big ones. If you are having any problems with parents on team let us know so we can resolve it quickly. We want to help you have a successful season. Remember, if you are having a good time, the players are too. Have a great season!
